this past week and the gigs it was filled with...

The past week has been pretty busy so I haven't had a lot of time to sit down and write about how awesome the last week has been. Busy. But, AWEsome. I have really been feeling like everything has fallen into place. Been exactly where God wants me, when He wanted me there.... what a great feeling!

This past weekend, the 15th and 16th of May, I was in Marshall, Texas. First of all, that place is crazy pretty! So green! It's like a town in the middle of a forest. Definately don't see much of that around Fort Worth. That Saturday when we got in town I got to participate in Couch Wars with Marshall Missionary Baptist Church and Sunset Missionary Baptist Church (video and photos are up and I've been tagged in them on Facebook). Couch Wars is like a scavenger hunt with a couch as a way to get youth to have fun and spread the Good News (teams get points for the amount of strangers they come in contact with and the amount of tracks handed out). We had a lot of fun!

That Sunday morning I had the honor of leading music before service at Marshall Missionary Baptist Church. Such a blessing, as are the people I've come to call friends. Brother Dave Nash's message that morning was great and my wife was taking notes like crazy, as she's know to do. We got to have lunch with many members of the church in a great afternoon of fellowship.

That evening Sunset Missionary Baptist had their weekly youth led service and I was blessed to beable to play with their praise band before the service kicked off. Then, I had a small acoustic set with a great guitarist, Phillip Griffith, while I got to share music from my album 'Reflection' and share what a transformation the Lord has had on my life.

That Wednesday after we had gotten back I played for a youth service at First Baptist Saginaw over here by us. It was such a blessing to get to rock the house for Jesus with my band (Rob Laffoon, drums, Trevor Kay, Bass and Stephon on Lead). The kids were great! Clapping and really getting in to the music.

The past week has just been such a blessing. There is a lot of work that goes on 'behind the scenes' with my little team to get things running smoothly and they do a great job at all of it. But, I really feel like I am doing exactly what God made me for when I am on a stage performing for His use. No matter the size of the crowd or how many shirts or CD's were sold... being able to talk about the Lord and sing praise to Him in my music is the biggest blessing to me in all of this. When the people I play for get to rock out for Jesus in the process, it just makes it that much better.
