So, Why Do I Blog?

That’s an interesting question.  One that deserves an honest answer.  I don’t know.  I know I should have a profound answer, like God told me to do this, or I want to be a blessing to others, but the truth is I blog out of my need to express my faith and frustrations in an honest and open manner.  I create blog entries in order to express my hidden courage and fears, that in some way may benefit others.

I’ve served the Lord for 37 years now.  While I’m no expert I’ve learned many things about the Lord and about myself during that time.  When I was younger I was much more in control, much more confident, and had most, if not all, of the answers to life’s complex and difficult questions.  I now take pause and reflect, and realize that I’m but an infant in my understanding and mastery of God’s ways.  I know that doesn’t sound very encouraging, but above all other things, I want my blog entries to reveal truth, not dreams or imagination.

I suppose of all things I’ve learned, I’ve been most humbled by my own failings.  They cannot be hidden, or diminished.  But I’m constantly amazed by God’s grace and His ever present help in time of need, irregardless of my worthiness.  And perhaps, that is the greatest discovery of all – despite my shortcomings God’s grace continues to be applied to my life.  To uphold me, to embrace me, to love me, to forgive me, to encourage me, and to help me keep moving forward down this path of life.  It is a mystery to me, how He can use me, and my limited gifts to further the Kingdom, but His will be done.
