Patience

Eph 1:3
Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ:

In your new reborn spirit, God has already given a believer patience.

Gal 5:22-25
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

If we exhibit a lack of patience, we are still in the flesh, and not walking in the Spirit.

We are not "waiting" for God to give it to us, it is not "His fault" we dont exhibit it.

1Cor 2:16
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

We should know Gods thoughts, we have been given the mind of Christ. The Bible is Gods thoughts, and Will. An unbeliever does not know Gods thoughts, and the unbelievers ways are definitely not Gods ways.

 Rom 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Waiting on God? God is waiting on us, always.

We can praise, worship, and pray 24 hours each day, 365 days per year and we may still find ourselves standing still.

 2Ti 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

A workman studies, while sitting still, to learn the Word. A farmer can pray for his land, machinery, and a bountiful reaping all year, 24 hours per day. When he studies about how to sow and reap, about the seasons(Gods Will), and then when the right season comes along, he plants his crop. Then when the right season comes along, he reaps a bountiful harvest.

Waiting, being still, should not be a quiet do nothing time. Waiting, being still, should be a dynamic active learning time. God cant put a person out to reap a bigger harvest, until a person learns how to sow seed for a bigger harvest.

If a person does not talk, then the person can listen to the Word and Will of God, the Bible, while a person is waiting, being still, for the right season to come around. Read the Words of the Bible aloud, make them come alive, hear what you are reading aloud.

There should never be "waiting", but actively pursuing the things of God. "Waiting" implies impatience, and is an inroad for mistrust of God, unbelief, impatience, fretting, worrying, etc. These are all of the flesh, and not of God.

 Psa 46:10
Be still, and know that I [am] God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

The only waiting we should be doing is like a waiter or waitress who waits on the customers.

Psa 25:5
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou [art] the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

"I am serving thee all the day"

Psa 25:21

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

"Integrity and uprightness  preserves me each and every day, as I serve thee my God."

Lead, teach, preserve, are being active in the pursuit of God, actively "waiting on", serving, God, putting into practice the things of God.

The word wait is mostly used in the Bible when a man is waiting for another man, when the man is not actively doing anything, or should not be doing anything. Like Saul "waiting" for Samuel. If Saul had "served" Samuel instead of ""waiting" impatiently" for Samuel, the improper sacrifice would have never been offered, and we would never have heard of David.

Lets "serve" the Lord with gladness, thanking Him for His goodness and mercy, praising Him all the day long.

Many times it can work the other way. HE WILL SAY, "No," and many still go on and do what they think is right.

PATIENCE

kbehrent - 02.16.10 @ 20:20 Re:

How can He say "No" when He has already given it to us, in our new reborn spirit? If you give me a car, and I come to you and ask you to give me a car, how can you say "no, I will not give you a car", when you have already given me a car?

Eph 1:3
Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ

In our new reborn spirits we have been given all the fruits of the spirit, which includes patience/longsuffering and it is up to us to manifest it and bring it into this life, by walking by the spirit and the renewing of our minds.

All the fruits of the spirit are part of the redemption and atonement.

 Rom 10:10
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

That righteousness is the righteousness of God, Jesus righteousness.  How can we have that kind of righteousness without having "all" the fruits of the spirit, already. We have been given the nature of God.

 2Pe 1:4
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

The nature of God includes "all" the fruits of the spirit, including patience.  Does God have patience in His Nature? If we have His nature, we have His patience. It may not be manifested in our lives, but that is not because it is not in our spirits, for us to acquire. "We" have to learn to walk in the spirit and renew our mind, God is not going to do it for us.

Deu 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Our choice.

I meant sometimes we need to be patient when HE SAYS, "No." Not go ahead and do what we think is the right thing.

kbehrent - 02.17.10 @ 08:22 Re:

Yes , I hear you about His saying "NO" about proceeding forward. "His Will" is to be accomplished in our lives and we need to be sensitive to that leading of when and where to proceed.

kbehrent - 02.18.10 @ 09:22 Re:

And then there are the things we "know" are the right things to do, to which He never, ever, says "NO", but many seem to be "waiting" for a "GO".

Such as

;

-love the Lord my God with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength.

-love my neighbor as myself.

-Matthew 10:7-8
7. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Mark 16:15-18
15. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

"We" may want to go to South Africa, or India, or Asia to do these things, but God says He wants you to do them where you are at. The person from India is the convenience store clerk. The South African is the clothing store clerk, the Asian is the waitress at your favorite restaurant. The sick is most likely your next door neighbor. The unsaved is most likely your next door neighbor.

There are so many things of God we can do, and we can do them without some special "leading" from Him.

 Gal 6:10
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are of the household of faith

The opportunity is most likely there because of Gods timing, and His bringing the opportunity to you. Just go about your daily tasks, and the opportunities will be there.

Heb 13:2
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Hmmmm. Should I talk to this person or not that wants to talk to me?  I better wait for a "Go" from God before I talk to them.

Hmmmm. This person needs a drink of water, but I better wait for a "Go" from God before I give them some water.

Hmmmm. This baby is dieing, but I better wait for a "Go" from God before I lay my hands on it for its recovery.

Hmmmm. These people are gonna kill me because I wont renounce my faith is Jesus. I hope I get a "Go" from God  to not renounce my faith before they get really serious about this.
