If God deaf?
"God turns a deaf ear to our prayers" is sometimes said when a prayer is not answered.
What does God say about our prayers?
Joh 15:16
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Joh 14:14
If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do [it].
Joh 16:23
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give [it] you.
These are just 3 scripture passages saying that the Lord shall do or give "whatsoever" we ask. There are dozens of passages that say He shall, or He will, give us what we ask for. Every time, and never is there a "sometime" in any of the passages. These are words from the mouth of Jesus.
Saying God has a deaf ear implies that God is like a human when they turn a deaf ear to something the human does not want to hear. But when has a human sent an only son to save all of wretched mankind from their sins.
Rom 8:39
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I dont see turning a deaf ear to us as showing love.
If God knows all things, then how can He turn a deaf ear to our pleas, and know all things? He must know what we say if He knows all things. So does He turn a deaf ear, or does what we ask for not in line with His Will for us or His kingdom?
Jam 4:3
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume [it] upon your lusts.
Eph 4:28 Mat 21:22
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Maybe the problem is our believing, or maybe we are asking amiss and not in line with the Will of God.
In the Book of Daniel, Daniels prayer was answered in less than 3 minutes one time, and it took 21 days the next time for the answer to come through. The second time was due to demonic interference. God answered each prayer immediately each time, but the answer did not manifest immediately each time.
If Daniel had doubted the second time, before the prayer answer came through, he would not have received the answer.
Another reason a prayer seems to go unanswered is because we are asking for something He has told "us" to do.
Matthew 10:7-8
7. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
He told "us" to heal the sick. He told "us" to preach. He did not tell us to pray for the sick, He told us to heal the sick.
Rom 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
We ask Him to renew our minds. He told "us" to renew our minds.
Jam 4:7 He told "us" to resist the devil, not ask Him to make the devil flee. Mat 17:20 God told us to "speak to the mountain", not tell God about the mountain. Tell the mountain about God.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
So, does God turn a deaf ear to our prayers, or do we just not understand? Is it Gods fault, or ours?
And that is where the blame usually lies, in the lap of a human being, everyone else, but not God. A random chance is not scriptural.
The law of;
gravity works constantly all the time, not randomly, and mankind can build things based on the law of gravity being constant
light is the same speed, and the speed can be used to calculate distance
sound waves are constant and can be used to calculate distance and speed
speed of the earths rotation is constant and can be used to predict seasons, eclipses, etc. etc. etc.
the cycle of the earth in a year is used to predict other planets location and position in the heavens
water begins to freeze at 32 deg. F, always unless chemicals are added
the sun shows itself each and every day, the moon shows itself, predictable all the time
everything is so predictable and regular, until human beings get into the picture. Then God becomes unpredictable, deaf, random, fickle. And it is Gods fault, according to mankind. we just cant tell what God is going to do.
